Mitsubishi Taiwan, this month unveiled the a newest addition to their locally produced Colt Plus lineup, the Colt Plus X Sports. Since the demise of the Galant sedan and a mild update to the Lancer sedan; Mitsubishi’s lineup is getting rather stale. The automotive division of the company does not seem to have enough funds to invest into new redesigned products, so refreshing and making something new out of an existing model is a way to keep things somewhat fresh. The picture below gives an idea brief comparison of the rear of the regular Colt Plus and the all new Colt Plus X Sports.
The exterior of the X Sports (plural for whatever reasons) is given a more off roader look. The 1.5L MIVEC engine and the CVT transmission are both carryovers from the regular Colt Plus models. The X Sports gets wheel flares, rocker panels, and side skirts to help differentiate it from the regular Colt Plus. Where as vehicles like the Audi Allroad and Subaru Outbacks both ride higher than the Subaru Legacys and Audi A4 Avants on which they are based on, respectively. The Colt Plus X Sport’s ride height is unchanged over the regular versions. The front grill and bumpers are given a sportier mesh look with integrated LED fog lights and LED running lights.
