Suzuki unveils its new Jimny

Suzuki exited the U.S. and Canadian auto markets back in 2012-13 for several reasons, its quite a shame as they have some interesting vehicles in their line-up. Suzuki pulled the wraps off of the all-new Jimny 4×4 on Monday and enthusiasts went wild. The styling looks quite like a Mercedes G-Wagon along with a nod to the classic Suzuki Samurai and SJs of the past. The styling inspires more of a retro look compared to its predecessor (Review of the 2016 Suzuki Jimny), but yet it still maintains its rugged looks.Underneath the Jimny, Suzuki still makes use of a ladder frame chassis. Connected to the 4WD system it appears to be a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. There isn’t much else is known about engine or performance, but what we do know is that Suzuki has made an emphasis on making this off-roader more capable both on and off-road. Also, there will be a choice between a manual or automatic transmission, however, in Taiwan this little SUV will be automatic only.

The interior has been modernized with a mix of old and new styling. The Jimny’s dashboard now has what it appears to be an infotainment touchscreen and automatic climate control. This is a big update coming from its predecessor, which was over 20 years old virtually unchanged.

The 2019 Jimny 4×4 will be available in either two-tone or single-tone colors based on the image shown below. The two-tone colors are available in Kinetic Yellow, Brisk Blue Metallic and Chiffron Ivory Metallic. , Meanwhile, the single tone colors will be available in the following body colors: Jungle Green, Bluish Black Pearl 3, Medium Gray, Silky Silver Metallic and Superior White.

The official debut of the Suzuki Jimny will likely be next month.
