Taichung BRT is OFFICIALLY no more! As of July 8th the former stations and dedicated bus lanes have been converted to allow all city buses to use. The platform gates will come down as well. I never understood why these gates were necessary for this system because all it did was slow down boarding and buses had to stop at a certain point in order for doors to open. Now many buses will be using these stations at any given time. A lesson learned indeed! Hopefully, this won’t be the last BRT in Taiwan.
