The car modification culture is big in Taiwan with lots of OEM aftermarket support and third party support. Yes, the U.S. has some wacked out rides too, but a transformation like this would take the cake. Taking an existing car and chassis to create a fiberglass car body is nothing new. Many auto enthusiasts enjoy creating their own special ride. Here is a one of a kind transformation turning an old car into an exotic sports car wannabe.
The donor car is a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T.
The Mitsubishi’s 4G63T 2.0L turbo is no match to the 3.8L twin turbo V8 in the McLaren, but this wannabe is for show not speed!
The owner of this particular Mitsubishi Eclipse said he was inspired by the McLaren MP4-12C. Instead of copying the MP4-12C like others may do, he decided to use it as inspiration. As you can see the transformation is rather stunning or super ugly, which ever way you want to look at it. The wheelbase and length maybe shorter than that of a Lamborghini or a McLaren, but this doesn’t matter if its a wannabe exotic on a budget! The owner says he gets a lot of looks and stares as he cruises on the streets.
So what do you all think of this Mitsubishi McLaren mashup wannabe?
How about this Honda Lexus wannabe?
